EPIC Flag-Raising Event at New Parliament Building! You Won’t Believe What’s Happening on PM Modi’s Birthday!

In a noteworthy development, plans are in motion for a ceremonial flag-raising event at the New Parliament building on September 17, signifying a fresh start. This date holds specific importance as it precedes the start of a special session and coincides with the celebration of Vishwakarma Puja, as reported by The Indian Express. It’s worth noting that September 17 is also the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The upcoming special session, set to take place from September 18 to 22, will commence in the existing Parliament building and subsequently transition to the newly inaugurated facility, which the Prime Minister officially opened on May 28.

Preparations for a significant “national flag-hoisting function” at the New Parliament have already begun. The Central Public Works Department, responsible for constructing the new edifice, recently initiated the process by issuing a tender for procuring a public address system. This event is expected to mark the inaugural flag hoisting ceremony at the New Parliament building.

As the session draws nearer, senior officials from the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry and the Central Public Works Department made visits to the new facility on Tuesday. They conducted last-minute inspections of audio systems in the Rajya Sabha and multimedia facilities for Members of Parliament. Additionally, an extra control room is being established alongside the existing Integrated Building Management System control room to promptly address any issues that may arise during the session. The on-site cafes and kitchens in the new building are also expected to be operational during the session.

Following the conclusion of the session, the New Parliament is poised to host representatives from legislatures of G20 nations for the Parliament20 meeting scheduled for October 13-14.
